Two-Part Epoxies

The majority of epoxy adhesives are applied with a two-part system. The adhesive is packed as part A (epoxy / resin) and part B is a curing agent or hardener. By mixing the two components, either mechanically or by hand, a curing reaction is triggered which cross-links the adhesive. Two-part epoxies can be applied at room temperature and do not need heat or moisture to cure. They achieve handling strength in 5 minutes to 8 hours depending on the curing agent. Most epoxies solidify in 2 to 3 hours at room temperature but all products should be allowed to cure 5 to 7 days at room temperature before testing.
